Oker-online (the german version) has been online for about a year now and it seems as if many kayakers appreciate this service.

Would you like more online-photo-guides?

Pictures say more than words, online-guides make it easyer to include photos and keep the thing up to date than the printed version to provide important informations and some impressions on the river. The only thing is, someone has to program it...

Our vision: many clubs, kayaking-associations etc. put their favorite playspots and rivers online, all the links are collected by some organisation (as the DKV in germany www.kanu.de/links/ ---> online-river-guides).

So you have a camera, a computer and a scanner and know someone who might know someone who can program websites? Great! ...what did you plan for next winter?

...oh, just one more good advice: if you are taking pics in a power-plant-regulated river, remember to look behind you frequently. You never know when the power-plant opens up its flood-gates (we ran hard, i can tell you)...
